Chi-Town, Here I Come

August 14, 2008

I’m off to Chicago for a long weekend.  On the vacation menu, we are planning Korean for lunch today, and we have dinner reservations at Sweets and Savories for the contraband hamburger.  More on that later. Tomorrow it will be pizza for lunch, stuffed of course, and sushi for dinner.  We’ll investigate the joys of BYOB upscale restaurants, one of the many things we are deprived of here in the state of North Carolina.   Then I’m hoping for world famous donuts from the Oak Park Farmer’s market, a good ole’ Chicago Dog, and then vegan wedding decadence.

For those of you are are sticking around this weekend, read carefully:  To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Grove Park Inn Sunday brunch, they will be offering the whole shebang for a mere $19.88.    Come early, come hungry, and stay late is my advice.  You won’t have to eat again until the following Tuesday.
